Sierra Leone Team B has qualified to the next rounds in the Total Energies African Nations Championship (CHAN) after defeating Cape Verde 3-2 at the Grand Stade in Marrakech, Morocco.
Sierra Leone had won 2:0 last weekend before losing by 2:1 today in the two-legged tie against the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde at the Stade de Marrakech in Morocco.
It was a jubilating atmosphere in Morocco following the sensational victory for Sierra Leone against the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in the double-header Total Energies CHAN 2022 qualifiers.
Sierra Leoneans in Morocco and the SLFA delegation celebrated the winning in grand style and appreciated the players for their tremendous effort displayed in the both matches.

As a result of the win, Sierra Leone Stars Team B the winner of the said tie will progress to the final tournament in Algeria, in January 2023.
Leone Stars ‘B’ shall host the Eagles of Mali on the 26th, 27th and 28th August, 2022 in the first leg whiles the reversed fixture shall play on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th September, 2022.
Therefore, the winner, Sierra Leone will meet Mali in the final qualifiers.
Sierra Leone is among nine teams in Zone A, battling to progress from the qualifiers to the finals of the forthcoming CHAN that will be hosted in Algeria in 2023.
As sports analysts have predicted a possible win for Sierra Leone and with the spirit and agility displayed by the players in Marrakech to defeat Cape Verde, Leone Stars home-based Team B displayed bravery and really played what many referred to as a convincing start from the players against Cape Verde to earn a spot in next year’s Total Energies Chan Showpiece in Algeria.
