Sherriff FC an Under 17 Team in Sierra Leone has commenced recruitment of players across the country. In doing this the team has been engaging several clubs in friendly matches that serve as a form of identifying players to join them.

According to the Assistant coach of the team Emerson Moriba their motive is to evaluate some of the lads they already have and it will last up to October this year to complete their recruitment.

Several nations across the continent and the World at large have made significant progress on football development. One course of that is the implementation of Grassroots football as a form of identifying talents to the formed a better squad for all categories.

Against this backdrop the Sheriff FC a non-division club in the Western Area of Freetown has played a fourth friendly match with Thunder City at the S.S Camp field.

Assistant Coach of Sheriff FC Emerson Moriba out of the last three friendlies they lost all but the results do not matter as they are still evaluating the set of players they want to form the squad.

Team Captain of Sheriff FC Ibrahim Bah explains to AYV how his role has been for the team from their previous matches and what are his expectations after the trials when they will conclude in October this year.

Sheriff Football Club was established last year in Sierra Leone and their primary motive according to them is to promote footballers, especially the young and deprived ones in the country so that they will realised and explore their untapped potential.

At the end of their month’s trial, twenty-four players will be given a letter of acceptance which will be followed by the signing of contractual documents.
