Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr has been granted bail by Magistrate Shaka Papa Kamara of the Lungi Magistrate Court.

Mayor Akie-Sawyerr is currently standing trial on two counts charge of Obstruction of Police Duty contrary to section 39 of the Police Act and Disorderly Behavior.

She was granted bail on her own recognizance NLE 100, 000, Evidence of National ID and Passport to be submitted.

The case has been transferred to Freetown.

The matter was adjourned to October 21.
