Court record intimated that the convicts blatantly violated Section (49) Sub Section (1) of the Pharmacy and Drug act of 2001, of the country’s laws.
Since none of the convicts could pay the fines levied on them by the court, they were whisked back to the Male Correctional Centre on Pademba road in Freetown.
In a similar development, Gibilla Kargbo, Alusine Conteh and Moses Kumba have been relocated to the Male Correctional Centre on Pademba road in Freetown, for frequenting in a place used for smoking leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa, thus negating certain core sections of the pharmacy and drug act of 2001.
The accused persons were arrested at Ascension Town in the Freetown judicial district, in the western area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, on the Tuesday 30 May 2017.
Furthermore, even though all accused person pleaded guilty to the charges put to them, the presiding Magistrate, Dr. Abubakar Binneh Kamara ordered that all accused persons be remanded in the maximums state detention centre on Pademba road in the west end of the county’s capital Freetown.
The matter was prosecuted by 549 Sesay M and the matter was adjourned to Friday 9 June 2017.
