Testifying in court, Detective Foday Koroma intimated that he is attached to the Eastern Police Division in Freetown and vividly recalled the incident of 21st January 2018.

He further informed his audience that he is Exhibit Clerk and some of his duties include, registering exhibits and cases assigned to him, adding that he was on duty at the Eastern Police Division on the aforementioned date, when Detective Police Constable Daramy A.A. brought in exhibits in respect of the matter before the court.

According to him, he took inventory of the items allegedly stolen from the complainant, George Lewis, and it has since been in the custody of the police, and that some of the items include; one old black sonny camera, phone charger, one red zoom microphone, one mic holder, black computer laptop, one silver color hard drive, trousers and t-shits, some documents and one Sierra Leonean passport.

The witness also produced and tendered in evidence the exhibits entrusted to him for safe custody.

Counsel representing all accused persons, I.Y. Kanu canvassed the presiding magistrate to admit the eight accused persons on bail, on the grounds that, the accused persons is Sierra Leonean and has reliable and credible surety or sureties to enter into recognizance of his behalf and will not jump bail.

He further told the court that the accused persons are not a flight risk and will not interfere with any of the prosecution witness or witnesses, and will continue to attend court sittings on every adjourned date.

Inspite of the plea of mitigation advanced by Counsel representing the accused persons, Magistrate Santigie Bangura refused all accused persons bail, and ordered for them to be relocated at the Male Correction Centre in the west end of Freetown

Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Hawa Bah is prosecuting the matter and Magistrate Santigie Bangura adjourned the matter to today Wednesday 7th February 2018.
