Mosques that benefitted the minister’s gesture include but not limited to the Makeni Central Mosque, Madina Mosque, Rogbaneh Mosque and the Station Road Mosque among others.

During the donation, Coordinator for the JFK Support Group in the Bombali district, Emmanuel Alie Kargbo said JFK through the Group decided to donate the tanks to the Mosques in a bid to attempt addressing the felt need of worshipers within the district.

He said water is very important and one way he could help Muslims to easily fetch water for their prayers is by make it accessible to them through the installed tank.

The coordinator said the water tanks will help solve the problems of water shortage in the Mosques and surroundings. He said similar donations were made in Bo, Kenema and Freetown respectively.

Mr. Alie said the minister had revealed plans to provide additional water tanks to the remaining Mosques that are yet to benefit from the gesture.

On behalf of the Muslim community in that part of the country, Chief Imam Alhaji Amadu Jalloh thanked the minister and his Group for the kind gesture and promised to make good use of the tanks.

“The tanks came in the right time, at a time when we Muslims are observing the holy month of Ramadan and more people are visiting the Mosques.

The donation ceremony was witnessed by dozens of worshippers, including Imams of the respective Mosques that benefited from the event.
