For derailing Murder proceedings; Judge Issues Bench Warrant for Juror

Police further alleged that after the accused persons had murdered the deceased, they dumped his remains in one of the latrine pit at his 7k Upper Tengbeh Town residence, before he deceased was later discovered by his mother in law, after he had disappeared from home and workplace for several days.

Justice John Bosco Allieu told the court that his very disappointed by the continuous and conspicuous absence of jurors to proceed with pending felonious matter, thus derailing the trail of the accused persons in the dock.

He strictly warned the head of the twelve man panel of jurors, not to enter his office to plea on behalf of any juror, and that any juror that enters his office will face serious embarrassment, adding that he has exercised patience with the jurors, but  has not enjoy the required cooperation and commitment from them.

“I treat everybody courteously but am getting very little cooperation from jurors empanelled to assist me determine and dispose of matters in my court,” said Justice John Bosco Allieu.

The State was represented by J M S Bull, first accused Demoh Bangura was defended by Ishmael Philip Mammie, whiles the second and third accused persons, Shollay Val Renner and David Sesay were represented by Cecilia Taulker of the Legal Aid Board.

Justice John Bosco Allieu postponed the matter to today Tuesday 16 January 2018, and ordered that all accused persons be remanded at the Male and Female Correctional Centres on Pademba Road in the west part of Freetown capital.
