Fatmata Claire Carlton Hanciles Executive Director Legal Aid Board in her statement asserted that the essence for the meeting was geared towards the launching of the post-election anti-violence campaign platform nationwide; noting that LAB and its partners launched the election anti-violence platform last year.

She added that they did a lot of work meeting community stakeholders across the country before and after the election and as a result of that, added to the help of their partners the country was able to have relative peace after the election despite there were some issues in some parts of the country which were against the law.

“We are working with the Police and other organizations both formal and informal as an institution that is responsible for bringing access to justice and providing legal advice, representation and education to Sierra Leoneans across the country,” Claire-Hanciles said.

Jennings Wright President Labor Congress commended LAB for engaging them on such a dialogue during and after the election, adding that they have completed two dialogue meetings on elections violence and are looking forward to climaxing the after election anti-violence meetings.

He added that there is no need for confusion over who is to rule over the nation, noting that everybody voted and the country now has a new leader to rule the country.

“One thing we always say at Labor Congress is that anything that affects or destroys our and our children’s future is against us,” Wright said.
