Share

According to the Particulars of Offence, the accused between 7th March and 19th April 2018 conspired to defraud the Government of Sierra Leone.

In count two and three, police alleged that the accused while in her capacity of deputy minister in the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure stole one Toyota Jeep with Registration No. AMK 889 valued at over USD75, 260, property of the Government of Sierra Leone, which she fraudulently converted to her own use and profit.

Defending the accused person was Lansana Dumbuya. He applied for bail on behalf of his client, noting that the only witness in court was a Transport Officer from the Ministry of Transport and Aviation, and claimed that the vehicle in question was removed from his client immediately after the March 2018 elections.

“After the March 2018 elections, some unknown people asked the accused to alight and they took the vehicle away,” he told the court.

The matter comes up again July 2 this year.
