According to the Particulars of the Offence, the accused David John Conford, on diverse dates in February 2012, obtained over ninety thousand Pounds Sterling from the complainant, Madam Sonia Michele Barrie on the pretext of constructing a house at Lakka, and that the said house was to be jointly-owned by both the accused person and the complainant.

The charge sheet further disclosed that the accused person obtained the said sum from the complainant through Raju’s Foreign Exchange Bureau at Siaka Steven Street in Freetown.

Lead Counsel for the accused David John Conford, M.S. Bangura applied for bail on behalf of the accused person, on the grounds that when the matter was initially reported at the Criminal Investigation Department headquarter in Freetown, the accused person was invited and granted self-bail.
