He made these remarks when the newly appointed S.L.R.A Board Chairman and the Director General paid a courtesy call at his New England Ville office in Freetown.

Addressing the two appointees and team, the Minister said as they had wealth of experience in the operations and activities of the S.L.R.A, there is no doubt that the good image of the institution would be revamped again.

Mr. George mentioned that he will work in close collaboration with them, in seeing that President Bio’s dream on infrastructure would be achieved within the soonest possible time, emphasizing that the President is always expecting quick result.

He called upon every Sierra Leonean to show commitment and have a good mindset for the country, stressing that he even demonstrated on the manner in which the brushing project must be done on either side of the highway.

In his remarks the S.L.R.A Board Chairman Joseph Keifala assured the Minister that they would fully cooperate to work with the Ministry for a positive delivery.

He said that they are now watching at the S.L.R.A Act and will later present the areas to be reviewed, adding that the Road Maintenance Fund Administration (R.M.F.A.) was only created to be a Treasury for the S.L.R.A who are the implementing Agency.

The S.L.R.A Director General, Engineer Amara Kanneh revealed that he had promised in his interview in Parliament to fight against indiscipline, corruption and poverty.

Mr. Kanneh said he will put adequate measures in place on the implementation of awarding contracts and put control systems in monitoring, adding that he would also go ahead in working with other key stakeholders in addressing issues on roads.  

The Deputy Minister Melrose Kargbo and the Permanent Secretary Prince Cole in the Ministry also made brilliant contributions for the achievement of the Infrastructural dream in Sierra Leone.
