He recalled that during the visit to Zurich, several issues were discussed and that one of the issues agreed on was that an inquiring team will be deployed to Sierra Leone from the 4th – 9th of November, 2018 to conduct investigations into the alleged match-fixing issue.
VP Jalloh maintained that, as a government, they are looking forward to the work of FIFA as it is part of what they wanted to do to bring discipline to football, as the government is committed to fighting corruption in football.
The presence of the FIFA team, he said, is a commitment on the part of FIFA in the fight for zero-tolerance for corruption related practices in football.
The Head of the Delegation, Mr. Jean-Samuel Leuba thanked the Vice President for the warm reception.
He said the purpose of their visit to Sierra Leone is to conduct an independent investigation into issues relating to corruption at the Sierra Leone Football Association against the suspended SLFA President and Secretary General.
He assured the Vice President of an independent and credible investigation.
The suspension of Sierra Leone from participating in international football competition came over claims by FIFA, of government interference, after the removal of the President of SLFA, Isha Johansen and Secretary General Christopher Kamara who were charged to court for corruption.
