He said revenue mobilization is almost always a challenge for local councils especially when members of the public hardly pay their dues due to lack of confidence in the administration. However, the WARDC Chairman went on to say that their revenue collection increased in 2018 due to their robust strategy in collection and engagement with the general public.

He further said that they are prioritizing spending and are focusing more on building more classrooms and markets to address accommodation in schools and reduce street trading.

Mr. Cole appealed to MDAs and non-governmental organizations to collaborate with the council to implement projects and programs for the people.

According to Holland-Cole, the future is bright for development of district, but lamented that they are facing series of challenges ranging from land grabbers among other challenges.
