The company has undertaken several projects ranging from school support, digging bore holes and giving financial support to inhabitants of Nimiyama Chiefdom. It is the first time the chiefdom owns its own cold room.

Mr. Sahr Moigua who is the Public Relations Officer for Nimiyama Chiefdom said that since 1930 when mining began in Sierra Leone, no company has done what Seawright Mining is doing for the people of Nimiyama Chiefdom. He went on to say that such an opportunity enables women especially to stop traveling to Freetown to purchase ice blocks to preserve their fish products.

He however registered his appreciation to Seawright Mining Company for the kind gesture. He further disclosed that the cold room is for the people of Nimiyama Chiefdom that would salvage the constraints of fishmongers traveling outside their home town to buy ice blocks in far-flung areas, adding that they have so far produced five hundred cartons of fish as a start.

Sia Josphine Konomani who is the Human Resources Manager said that providing a cold room for the people of Nimiyama Chiefdom is part of their corporate social responsibility and for a start they have filled the cold room with five hundred cartons of assorted fish products. She added that they would be in charge of the cold room for three months and that they would also be paying workers to secure the facility. She maintained that two standby generators have been added to the cold room in the event of power failure.

She noted that they also built a chiefdom barray and gave financial support to several schools in and around Kono District.
