The project started 1 year ago and has yielded lots progress for residents and pedestrians that normally ply at the axis.

The importance of the project is to improve accessibility and road safety in the selected areas within the Western region and enhance institutional and academic capacity in the transport sector.

According to Mr. Kamara, hired consultants have done findings to compensate people that are to be affected by the project. He said they have also done financial analysis and evaluations within the affected communities.

“We have been engaging and holding meetings with project affected people, bike and tricycle riders, councilors, ward committee members as well as the Constituency’s Member of Parliament to map out the way forward.” Mr. Kamara said, adding; “the project is important to the community because it will help to lessen traffic, street trading and road accidents”.

The project Mr. Kamara went on, is a pilot program that will be expanded to Congo Cross and Ferry Junction, citing that the project is funded by World Bank and will cost $40 million dollars.
