“Each year, Labour Day gives us an opportunity to recognize the invaluable contributions that working men and women make to our nation, our economy and our collective prosperity,” General Manager for both Milla Group and Pee Cee and Sons, Rajesh Hemnani said in a statement.
“It gives us a chance to show gratitude for worker’s grit, dedication, ingenuity and strength which define our nation’s character. Rajesh Hemnani added.

Delivering the keynote address the Vice President of Sierra Leone Julde Jalloh said each year Labor Day gives us an opportunity to recognize the invaluable contribution that working men and women make to our nation, our economy and our and our collective prosperity.
He called on citizens to respect and obey the laws of the land; and that no one should be worried as long as they remain peaceful and law abiding.
He referred to the labour force as critical force to nation building, stating that a modern state cannot function adequately without a viable workforce.
He encouraged the Labour Union and the labour force to form a viable partnership with government, and work in unity for the purpose of moving the country forward.
President of the Sierra Leone Labour Congress Jennings Wright, applauded all employers and employees for attending the Labor Day celebrations and called for improved incentives for all workers.
Executive Officer of the Employers Federation Kobi Wlaker spoke about their commitment and determination to improve on the welfare of workers and also creating new jobs for locals
The celebration was climaxed by awards after a match-passed along the principal street of Freetown.
