Already, there is a global parliamentary network called Global Parliamentary TB Caucus which other countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and South Africa have heeded to the call by establishing Parliamentary TB Caucus in their respective countries.

In partnership with the National Leprosy and Tuberculosis Control Programme (NLTCP) through the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS); and the Africa Parliamentary TB Caucus, the Civil Society Movement Against Tuberculosis – Sierra Leone (CISMAT-SL) held a one-day meeting with a cross-section of Members of Parliament sitting on the Health and Human Rights Committee. The purpose of the meeting was to establish the Parliamentary Caucus Against Tuberculosis in Sierra Leone (PCAT-SL).

The Civil society Movement Against Tuberculosis in Sierra Leone (CISMAT-SL) is a TB patient-led organization with membership of diverse civil society and community based organizations (CBOs) working to advance advocacy and establish prevention mechanisms of Tuberculosis (TB). Its main focus is to see an improved access to quality TB treatment and services at community level, through Community Based Monitoring and feedback (CBMF) which is a patient-centered approach methodology that promotes social accountability for effective TB service delivery.
