Captain Kamara escaped from his usual detention center at Wilberforce Barracks in Freetown where he was been held following the commencement of the Court Martial proceedings.

Speaking to this reporter on an exclusive interview yesterday 21st May, 2019 on the escape of Captain Kamara, Major Yayah Brima said: “Yes!! I can confirm that he has escaped but for now, we will not give further details on his escape until we get certain facts rights.”

The fine military personnel however assured AYV that he will give the media institution more details on Captain Kamara’s escape after other facts would have been collected and put together.

It can be recalled that Captain Kamara, Warrant Officer Class One Samuel Conteh and Warrant Officer Class Two Abu Bakarr Jalloh, all former presidential guards of the Former President of Sierra Leone Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, are currently facing 5 counts ranging from Conspiracy, Larceny by Servant, Willful Neglect and Ordering Damage to Service Property, Willful Damage of Service Property, to Conduct that was Prejudicial to the Group Order and Military Discipline Contrary to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Sierra Leone Act No.34 of 1961 as Amended.

Before his apprehension, Captain Kamara was in charge of the Presidential Guard Force of Former President Ernest Bai Koroma.
