The State charged both convicts for stealing one lap top computer, one Holy Bible, one Galaxy Mobile phone, one micro soft mobile charger, four peers of shoes, one leather belt, one foam mattress, one school bag with a fiscal cash of two million Leones five hundred thousand Leones, all to the total valued of nine million, property of the Complainant, Moi Foray Musa.
Both convicts, Tejan Magao and Sayoh Marrah committed the said offence on 11th February 2019 within the jurisdiction of Sierra Leone.
When the charge was preferred against the two convicts, they pleaded guilty and went on to inform the court that, they had returned the stolen items to the complainant, after they were exhibited at the Magistrate Court, during preliminary investigation.
In her plea of mitigation, Counsel for both convicts, Sonia Bobanie pleaded with the presiding Judge to tamper justice with mercy.
She told the court that the convicts did not waste the court’s time, and that they have learnt their lessons and are now prepared to become responsible citizens.
The presiding Judge, Hon. Justice Reginald Fynn also ordered that the stolen items exhibited at the Magistrate Court be returned to the Complainant, Moi Foray Musa.
Both convicts were prosecuted by M. Lansana and V. E. A. Kabbia, while Barrister Sonia Bobanie Browne defended the two notorious criminals.
In another development, a motor driver, Francis Wilson has been arraigned before Hon. Justice Reginald Fynn presiding over High Court N0.1 for violating the road traffic rules and regulations.
The accused person is charged with the offence of Causing Death by Dangerous Driving, which negates Section (99) sub Section (1C) of the Road Traffic Act of 2007.
Francis Wilson is alleged to have killed Marie Sesay, Abu Hassan Conteh, Sarrah Kamara and Abdul Kamara in a vehicle with registration Number; AMY 118 in a road accident, on 16th December 2018 within the jurisdiction of Sierra Leone.
The accused person pleaded guilty to the charge, but was also quick to state that the accident occurred due to a break failure.
The matter was then assigned to Hon. Justice Taylor for further trial.
He was prosecuted by State Counsel, V. E. A. Kabbia, whiles the accused person, Francis Wilson was defended by Onikeh Spencer Coker and Sonia Bobanie Browne from the Legal Aid Board.
