Speaking about the flight’s operations, the Sales Manager Sahel and Coastal Region for Air Cote D’Ivoire, HerveAbou said they are happy to begin five-day weekly operations from the Freetown International Airport to Abidjan.

Few weeks ago, Sierra Leone was elevated from Category 7 to Category 8 by the ICAWO for its efforts at improving on the standard of world aviation.

HerveAbou who is the Sales Manager Sahel and Coastal Region for Air Cote D’Ivoire, said they are happy to be back in the country. “Today is a historicday for the government and the people of Cote D’Ivoire and Sierra Leone. The long-awaited Air Cote D’Ivoire flight finally touches down in Freetown. The company will maintain a five-day weekly operation from Freetown International Airport which we are sure would be warmly appreciated by the traveling population in Sierra Leone. We can now confidently say gone are the days when you have to spend 9 to 12 hours flying just to Abidjan. This is a positive development for the Mano River Uniona and Air Cote D’Ivoire does not look back at the past months of inactivity and its causes. We look forward with eager determination to provide quality service and prompt connections in and out of Lungi to the rest of Africa,” he said.

SadiqSillah who is the Deputy Minister of Transport and Aviation expressed government’s commitment to maintaining the standard of the airport, and called on the airline operators to feel confident to operate in the country.

He added that the government will continue to make space for other airlines to operate in the country, and that the country has also reduced tax on airlines operating in the country.
