Speaking to AYV last evening in an exclusive interview, Country Director of YCF-SL, Engineer Jegede Joseph O. said the Organization will be launched in Sierra Leone on 30th November this year in order to support education in Mathematics and Sciences, and to make citizens aware of the vital importance of Mathematics and Sciences in Commerce, Government, Health and Research.

He went on to say in furtherance to its educational objects but not otherwise, the Company may exercise the power to promote the academic excellence among youth in Mathematics and Sciences, promote health culture among the youth population through education about the risks of smoking, drugs, violence, HIV/AIDS and other diseases.

The engineer furthered that their aim is also to promote girl child education, gender equality and human rights, encourage quality leadership and creative entrepreneurship among youth, render assistance and support to orphans, handicapped, disabled and underprivileged, holding national debates, quiz competitions, seminars, workshops, conferences, symposiums, public lectures, training programmes and outreaches on Mathematics and Sciences in and out of Sierra Leone and most importantly, provide free tutorials to schools on Mathematics and Sciences among other issues.

The country director concluded that YCF-SL will be engaging on education, welfare and development of young people across the country through Great Olympiad Maths, Pre/Pan African Olympiad Maths and International Olympiad Maths, national and internationals robotics and science programs sponsorships.
