One Kenie Musa Johu Section Chief of Kambeima, Dama and Gaura chiefdoms in Kenema district has confessed killing one Vandi Konneh from the same village.

Confessing to the Eastern Region Police Headquarters in Kenema, Kenie said while on his usual hunting spry in the forest, he used his normal shotgun (single barrel) to shoot at a Monkey that he saw standing on top a tree.

He said upon arriving under the tree where the Monkey he shot drops, he saw a normal human being lying on the floor gasping to death.

The confession came weeks after the divisional police mounted investigations regarding the mysterious demise of the deceased whose remains was discovered lying in the pool of blood in the middle of a forest some meters away from the village.

The alleged killer said the unfortunate occurrence took place since August 2, 2021.

Sgt. Prince Bernard Jeigboi Kamara is the Police Media boss for the Eastern Region Police Division. He said the chief’s confession came as a surprise to them.

“It is very surprising to the police because the chief himself had been coming to our station from the onset accompanying others for investigation”, he explained; adding that the due processes must be met even though the accused presented himself voluntarily.

Meanwhile, Chief Musa Johu is in custody still helping with necessary information whilst the police await state council’s advice, police sources say.
