Presenting the bills to Parliament, the Minister of Water Resources, Momodu Maligi, outlined the importance of the bills in the president’s drive to improve the water sector.
Members of Parliament in their contributions welcomed and appreciated the bills, with the aim to provide for the equitable and sustainable management and use of the country’s water resources.
Both leaders of the House appreciated the efforts of the Ministry in putting together the three water bills in the best interests of the nation.
After a long debate on the three bills, the House committed the three bills to its Legislative Committee for further deliberations and clarifications, in preparation for enactment.
