The new institution was to help spread a better understanding of God’s laws and basic technical skills to capacitate the young generation. The newly constructed Taiama learning institute expected to start operation in the 2017/2018 academic year. Courses like Home Economics, Information Technology and other skills training would be available at the institution.

Authorities of the Church of God World Wide Mission International said the newly constructed Taiama learning institute intends to give opportunities to community inhabitants to know God and be capacitated in different fields to be self-reliant. Ansumana Fofanah and Martha Fofanah are the pioneers of the project. Elder Ansumana said there are many dropouts in the community, as a result of the fact that most community people had not be able to further their studies. He therefore said the institute will serve as a center to reintegrate them into the society.

The dedication was done by the general overseer of the Church of God World Wide Mission International, Reverend Dr. Joel Thomas. Reverend Thomas told the people to take good care of the facility, noting that more are underway to reach the institute. Reverend Thomas said he was personally excited witnessing the completion of such a meaningful project.

PC Thomas Borbor Gbappi the forth, Paramount Chief of Kori Chiefdom said Kori Chiefdom happened to be developmentally oriented. PC Gbappi said that why they have one of Sierra Leone’s universities, the Njala University. The Paramount Chief distinctly warned against wrong doing in the chiefdom.

 Member of Parliament for constituency eighty-two, Honourable Gladys Gbappy-Brima said she heard of the ceremony whiles in Freetown-the capital of Sierra Leone, upon realizing the importance of such an event, she made it a point of duty to attend. Honourable Gbappy-Brima said she likes development and appreciate what the Church of God World Wide International has done. She said historically women emancipation started in their district, Moyamba with Madam Mammy Yoko-one of the colonial female paramount chiefs and this institution would help to capacitate women. She said that only through education that someone could be empowered.

Other local authorities welcomed the initiative and called on the Church of God World Wide Mission International to do more.
