The mortal remains of former Communications Executive of the Freetown City Council (FCC), Sia Fatmata Kamara, allegedly killed by her boyfriend, has been laid to rest in Freetown, following a funeral mass at the Charles Davies Memorial United Methodist Church in Lumley.
A somber atmosphere engulfed the FCC as the remains was laid out in the Council’s Auditorium for a civic funeral.

The alleged perpetrator, Abdul Kpaka, is currently on trial, with the next hearing scheduled for September 4, 2024.
The trial, which began last week at Pademba Road Court presided by Magistrate Santigue Bangura, has drawn significant public attention. The defense is led by Teddy Koroma, while Joan Bull represents the state prosecution.
Sia’s death has ignited widespread condemnation, with a postmortem revealing severe injuries, including broken ribs and spinal cord damage, which have intensified public demands for a thorough and swift investigation.
Women across the country are urging law enforcement to expedite the case, emphasising the need for timely justice.
