The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has held a two-day sensitization meeting to engage residents and beneficiaries of the Productive Social Safety Net and Youth Employment (PSSNYE) project in Kamboma section, Small Bo chiefdom, Kenema district and Pendembu Town, Upper Bambara chiefdom, Kailahun district.
The Productive Social Safety Net and Youth Employment Project is designed to improve livelihoods, empower youth, and foster sustainable development in communities.
The sensitization meetings provided an opportunity for participants to ask questions and share their concerns about the project.
Head of External Outreach Unit at the ACC, Alhassan Sesay, whilst addressing the beneficiaries, urged them to actively participate in the project while adhering to the principles of integrity and transparency. He reminded them that their cooperation is crucial for the project’s success and sustainability. He also told the beneficiaries that they are at liberty to make reports on any grievances or suspected acts of corruption to the Commission via the toll-free lines of 077-985985/077-986986/8515.
Senior Public Education Officer attached to the Kenema Office, Edward N. Blake, outlined the Commission’s pivotal role in ensuring transparency and accountability in the implementation of the project. He emphasized that the ACC’s involvement aims to safeguard resources and ensure that the intended beneficiaries receive maximum benefits. He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to promoting good governance and encouraged the communities to report any suspected acts of corruption or mismanagement to thee Commission.
The meetings concluded with a call to action for all stakeholders to work collaboratively in ensuring the success of the project.
