Education Ministry launches service delivery

The launch of the sector transition Plan 2018-2020, which is under the President recovery priorities, was among other things established to closely monitor teachers and ensured a proper structure of the revised education curriculum of the ministry.

According the Chief Education Officer in the Ministry of Education Science and Technology, Dr. Alhaji Kamara disclosed that there was two years strategic plan designed by the ministry to counter examination malpractices in schools and universities in throughout country.

 “The document has established structures that were aimed at reducing corruption and examination malpractices that had characterized schools, universities and tertiary institutions,” Dr. Alhaji Kamara noted.

The Chief Education Officer in the Ministry of Education Science and Technology said the document entailed a package that would provide two thousand and seven hundred lesson plans to cover all grades in primary and junior secondary schools.

He added that a new curriculum was being drawn out and a new syllabus would be developed out of the lesson plans project.

 Alhali Kamara maintained that the curriculum had been designed to align with the country’s development needs and aspirations and went on to inform the gathering that some forty thousand teachers would be trained   on how to implement the lesson plans project.

 He disclosed further that plans were underway to close some five hundred schools in the country, which were currently being operated by private individuals without the approval of the Ministry of Education Science and Technology.

The two years strategic plan also entails a new communication approach to report on progress made from schools and every district would have a situation room to compile reports.
