President of SLEDU Abdul Karim Koroma aka Pilot CPO said the Union was set up to regulate the affairs of local DJs in and out of the country.

He said the Union has two categories of awards that would be distributed at the forthcoming national event, adding that this year’s event will see the recognition of musicians and entertainment artists.

He went on that SLUDU executive decided to hold this year’s event in the southern province because they want to motivate artists and entertainers in that part of the country.

This year the president went on, the awards will future Best R&B, Best Hip-Hop and Best Cultural Artist among other entertainment categories, adding that very soon, the Union will open a public voting system that will be used by fans to vote for their favorite artists.

Also speaking at the event was a representative from Bo city who said the people of Bo are all set for the event and are eagerly waiting the program. He called on the Union to ensure that the awards are given to deserving people and not to be held in an unjustified manner.
