He informed journalists that his company had signed a lease agreement with the Sierra Leone Produce Marketing Company, formerly referred to as the Sierra Leone Produce Marketing Board for twenty years with a genuine intention to uplifting the country’s port facilitates.

According to him, prior to the signing of the lease agreement, his institution held fruitful discussion with officials of the Sierra Leone Produce Marketing Company, adding that they presently engaged in a massive rehabilitation of the SLPMC dilapidated structures, with plans afoot to upgrading the entire compound.

Jim Page further intimated that his company presently employs over one hundred Sierra Leoneans who had received training in computer skills, electrification of their facilities, business ethics and that plans are under way to conduct more training for staff of Nectar Bulk Terminal.

He also disclosed that Nectar has provided technical skill training for seven hundred Leone dock workers in port safety, how to operate onboard ships, including the provision of advanced equipment and safety gears for workers.

Nectar Managing Director commended the government of Sierra Leone for providing a conducive environment and further encouraging them to invest more in the country’s port management system, noting that

his company would continue to work side by side with government at all times.

He further disclosed that his institution has also constructed a primary school at the Cline own Community as part of its corporate social responsibility, including the donation of large quantity of food and non food items to flood and mudslide victims in the country.
