Elizabeth Ayo Johnson was alleged to have collected as rent a huge amount of money from various complainants on the pretext that she owned and was letting out a house situated at Clarence Street, in Freetown.

While the trial was ongoing the accused denied her statement to the police, including her finger print, which prompted the state prosecutor, AGM Bockarie to request the court for a finger print expert to prove that the accused was right or wrong.

In his testimony to the court John Turay, who is a prints expert from the Criminal Investigation Department, testified that him and an independent finger print agent had taken samples of the accused finger print.

He said they used advanced equipment, magnifier automated machine and computer, stating that after imputing accused’s finger print they reduced their findings into a report, which indicated that it was her finger print contemporaneously obtained from her.

The witness stated that at the end of their findings they also realized that the accused person did make statement to police before the matter was charged to court, and that the statement, which the state prosecution had tendered in evidence, was her statement.

At the concluding stage of proceedings the State Prosecutor, lawyer Bockarie, requested for an adjournment in other to enable him contact his remaining witnesses. The accused person had no legal representation.

The matter adjourned to 23 February 2017.
