Representatives from Africell Sierra Leone have paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Communication, Innovation and Technology, Madam Haja Salima and her Deputy Ibrahim Sannoh.

Minister Salima expressed her gratitude to Africell for their commendable corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives within the country. She emphasized the importance of amplifying internet accessibility for the Sierra Leonean populace and expressed a keen interest in augmenting collaborations to achieve this goal.

She highlighted her commitment to working closely with the private sector to meet the pressing needs of Sierra Leoneans. The underpinning message she conveyed was, “How can we better plan?” She emphasized on formulating a strategic sector plan, with a primary objective focused on enhancing rural penetration and connectivity.

In her endeavors, she articulated her intention to collaborate closely with UADF to ensure seamless access, foster innovations, and aligning sectoral training and employment opportunities.

Chief Admin/HR Officer Andrew Fatoma, extended his hearty congratulations to both Minister Salima and Deputy Minister Sannoh on their new appointments. He was pleased to share that Africell currently have over 550 sites spread across Sierra Leone, making significant strides in every district.

Our company, he stated, actively collaborates with various MDAs, notably NaTCA and UADF, to offer robust functional support. He underscored their commitment to building and strengthening bonds as they move ever forward.

Also present during the visit was the Legal and Compliance Manager, Hajaratu Sudee Turay, and MarComs Manager, John Konteh.
