Winner of the 2023/24 AYV Miss University Pageant, Fatima Kamara from the Fourah Bay College (FBC), will host her maiden Meet and Greet show tomorrow Saturday 7th September, 2024 at the West End Palace on Lumley/Aberdeen Beach in Freetown, commencing at 5pm for just NLe100.

Born on August 11, 2000, in Freetown, Sierra Leone, Fatima Kamara is a 23-year-old Sierra Leonean model, seamstress, make-up artist, and third-year student studying Communications Media and Information Studies at the Fourah Bay College.

Fatima Kamara is competing in this year’s Miss University pageant, organised by Africa Young Voices Media Empire (AYV) in partnership with the National Union of Sierra Leone Students (NUSS). The event is scheduled to take place on April 26, 2024, at the Radisson Blu Hotel.

Fatima Kamara stands as a blend of creativity and resilience. Her journey began in Freetown, Sierra Leone, where she was born into a family filled with love and ambition.

Currently a third-year student at the Faculty of Communications, Media, and Information Studies, Fatima is a dedicated scholar. She combines her academic pursuits with a vibrant career as a seamstress, makeup artist, and hair stylist. Her ability to blend the world of fashion and beauty is a testament to her versatility.

Fatima’s life has been a tapestry of experiences, each adding a unique thread to her story. From her early years in Freetown to her pursuit of higher education, she has encountered challenges with grace and determination. These experiences have shaped her into the remarkable individual she is today. She participated in the Miss FBC 2023 pageant where she took first runner-up.

Fatima has made significant strides in her chosen fields. As a seamstress, she weaves threads of creativity into stunning garments. Her makeup artistry and hairstyling skills transform individuals, enhancing their natural beauty. She is a true artist in every sense.
Fatima’s dreams reach far and wide. She aspires to be an activist, using her voice to drive positive change in her community. Additionally, she aims to become a prominent figure in the field of media, sharing stories that matter. Her ultimate goal is to become a lawyer, advocating for justice and equality.

Fatima draws her inspiration from her father, Musa Kamara. His dedication to their family, his tireless efforts, and his role as both a mother and father figure have instilled in her a deep sense of determination and gratitude. His unwavering support has been the cornerstone of her journey.
