Amb.Anthony Navo Jr. Applauds President Bio for ARISE special Economic Zone, Pledge Job Creation and Private Sector Growth

One of the prominent leaders in Sierra Leone’s private sector, Ambassador Anthony Navo Jr., who doubles as Chief Executive Officer of the Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Group and Council Member, Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce, 2018-2024, has heartily thanked President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio and his Cabinet for their great vision in establishing the ARISE Special Economic Zone in the country.

Speaking in a Panel Session on Leadership for National Development, at the maiden edition of President Dr. Julius Maada Bio’s Leadership Colloquium 2025, at the Bintumani Conference Centre in Freetown, Amb. Navo Jr. said, “Thanks to you, His Excellency (President Bio), for your great vision in establishing the ARISE Special Economic Zone. Thanks to your Cabinet and Parliament for supporting this good initiative. Let me continue to assure you that we are going to provide thousands of lucrative jobs for our people. Let us continue to strengthen the partnership with the private sector in Sierra Leone for more national developments”.

He informed his audience that as a businessman, he has been in the private sector for over 20 years, and that he can comfortably say that Sierra Leone is not there yet, but it is gradually making progress. “We may have all the good policies as a country, but when it comes to implementation, the problem arises”. Amb. Navo Jr. concluded.

In a landmark celebration of national excellence, Ambassador Navo Jr., was recently honored with the prestigious National Heroes Award by Heroes Media Group, recognising his exceptional contributions to nation-building and societal advancement.

He has been celebrated for his visionary leadership in media development and his unwavering commitment to strengthening national communication through the transformative work of AYV Media.
