Hon. Carew told representatives from various mosques that elections are over and that it is time they focus on development.
He went on to say that the donation was done in collaboration with Bollore Ports Management, adding that he would ensure that all activities in the community are geared towards developing his constituency in particular and the country in general.
Hon. Sheriffu Carew thanked God almighty for giving him the courage, understanding and enthusiasm to represent his people in Parliament, and asked the beneficiaries to forgive him for whatever wrong he might have done to them in the past.
In his contribution, Sheik Mohamed Ibrahim King noted that Hon. Sheriffu Carew is a humble and devoted son-of-the-soil who has always showed respect to his constituents, irrespective of tribal, regional or political affiliation.
He said people should be kind to the poor and the needy including widows, adding that the donation is a clear demonstration of his willingness and preparedness in the area of development and humanitarianism.
