All People’s Congress (APC) Party’s National Women’s Congress has engaged the Party’s Female Parliamentary Caucus at the Party’s National Headquarters in Freetown to discuss the Party’s progress.
President of the Congress, Mariama Lowe Bangura said the meeting has been quite overdue, adding that a lot has happened after the 24th June 2023 General Elections.
She said the purpose of the meeting is to discuss issues that are affecting them as women, the Party and its way forward. She further expressed happiness to see a well-attended meeting, noting; “I am grateful that you make it a point of duty to attend on short notice”.
Hon. Haja Miatta Amara, APC Member of Parliament for West Region, responded by thanking the APC women’s president for a call to duty. She said: “We are honoured that you invited us to discuss things that are affecting us and our Party. Our people have been calling on us to talk to them but we need a position from the National Secretariat”.
Vice President of the APC National Women’s Congress, Haja Ya Alimany Manso Kamara also gave a brief background on the activities of the Congress since they took up office she was followed by the Congress Secretary, Mrs. Bernadette Yillah Kargbo who also explained about the work of the Tripartite Committee.
Haja Isatu Kamara, APC Regional Chairperson for the Southern Region also thanked the women’s president for inviting them to such important meeting, while admonishing the women that there are so many things that they can do to foster development and oneness in the APC Party.
Other issues of oneness, development, peace and progress were duly discussed in the meeting and progressive resolutions reached for implementations.
