APC’s Deveaux Reports Alleged Attack

Share

At about 1:30am Tuesday morning, the same group of persons attacked my 39 Wilson street residence and tried to force their way into my fenced compound. I told them that if anybody dares to force his way into my compound that person will surely die. They decided to retreat and in the process threw stones at the resident of my neighbours causing serious damages”.

He said he has reported the matter to the Waterloo Police Division, but in his words, Deveaux said: “the LUC, acting on the orders of the Inspector General of Police has refused to arrest the suspects”.

The suspects according to Deveaux; “are known SLPP operatives who are acting on the directives of an SLPP deputy minister” (whose name cannot be mentioned for now as this medium has exhausted attempts to reach him for clarifications).

He said his attackers are also guilty of intimidating, wounding and violently attacking people perceived to be APC, adding that as at now, he is all safe even though there is looming threat to his safety and security which he assured will never intimidate him by any measure.

The SLPP is desperate to quench the popularity of the APC in Waterloo and in their desperation they have not just politicized the conduct of village head election scheduled for Saturday 18th but are also attacking people who are APC including a former Member of Parliament and Chairman of Local Council whose residence suffered serious damages.” Deveaux concluded.

All attempts to reach the Local Unit Commander of the Waterloo Police Division for confirmation of Cornelius Deveaux alleged attack proved futile, but this medium will continue to monitor happenings on this matter on subsequent editions.
