As President of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), Sierra Leone’s First Lady, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, chaired the 2nd Steering Committee Meeting with H.E. Mrs. Ana Dias Lourenço (Angola), H.E. Mrs. Monica Chakwera (Malawi), H.E. Sen. Oluremi Tinubu (Nigeria), and representatives from Congo, Ethiopia, and Equatorial Guinea.

Dr. Fatima Maada Bio said: “We focused on increasing regional participation among First Ladies and how we can work together to advance OAFLAD’s mission for women and children across Africa”.
In her meeting, Dr. Bio convened a preparatory session via Zoom with the OAFLAD Secretariat, outlining her vision for the organisation’s future.
The meeting served as another platform for Dr. Bio to articulate her strategic direction for OAFLAD.
A key focus of her vision is to expand OAFLAD’s reach beyond the African continent, enhancing its global influence. She also emphasised the importance of a seamless leadership transition, ensuring the organisation’s continued effectiveness.
The meeting signals her dedication to strengthening the organisation’s role in international development.
