All Works of Life (AWOL) has held its 10th Annual Award at London’s Royal Regency Hall in honor of Excellence and Resilience in Philanthropy.
Among the highlights was a touching tribute to the late Sierra Leone High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr. Edward Turay, commemorated with a posthumous award in recognition of his profound contributions.
The ceremony also shone a bright spotlight on ongoing resilience and devotion, honoring distinguished individuals like Dr. Mohamed Kamara, a dedicated doctor working with the UK NHS, whose tireless efforts continue to impact countless lives not just in the greater Manchester area where he lives and works, but also in faraway Sierra Leone where he hails from.
In a heartwarming moment, attention swiftly turned to 8-year-old Abubakar Kargbo from the Elephant and Castle area of London. The adorable youngster was recognised and roundly applauded as an exemplary figure for the unwavering care he provides for his severely disabled mother.
The documented selflessness and compassion relayed on screen, and revealed in personal testimonies, touched the hearts of all attendees, showcasing the endearing spirit of family bonds, community cohesion and human empathy.
The event also paid tribute to a number of other worthy figures such as late Aki Deen, the legendary Sierra Leonean music producer and promoter, whose legacy resonates deeply within the national music industry.
His enduring influence and passion for promoting Sierra Leonean music were celebrated with reverence and admiration.
