At CAF’s Women’s Sports Workshop in Morocco;AYV’s Esther Marie Samura flies ‘Salone’ Flag high

Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire’s Head of Sports, Marie Esther Samura is proudly representing Sierra Leone at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women Media Officers Workshop currently taking place in Rabat, Morocco.

The Workshop, which started on May 13, with the theme:‘Her Path: Born Winner’, is designed to strengthen the skills and capacities of women in media, especially those who have played and are still playing a crucial role in boosting football in the continent through media relations and content creation.This is in line with Dr. Patrice Motsepe, CAF President’scommitment to advancing women’s representation at all levels of African football.

It is part of preparations for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2024, launched to enhance communication and media operations around the tournament.

Speaking exclusively to AYV, Esther said the workshop brought together 20 female media professionals from Mali, Senegal, Nigeria, Botswana, Morocco, and Sierra Leone. I am truly excited to be part of this mind-blowing training. It means a lot to me, especially the chance to learn from the experience and expertise of seasoned media professionals and football administrators.”

The workshop focuses on strengthening competencies in media operations, digital media, and strategic communication, aligning closely with CAF’s commitment to inclusive development within the sport.
