The residents in their thousands yesterday 15th January assembled in their APC coloured T-shirts in strategic locations within the constituency holding placards and banners with inscriptions rejecting him for a second term bid as MP for the constituency.

It can be recalled that Amani aspired for the symbol alongside two others, Ibrahim Bangura aka Mr. B and Hadrick Kanu but the APC party awarded the symbol to the former.

Majority of the angry protesters yesterday who spoke to AYV newspaper last evening called on the National Chairman and Leader of the APC, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma and the party to withdraw the symbol from Amani and award it to Mr. B who according to them will be their best representation in the next parliament.

The protesters went on to say Amani has been in the last parliament for five years and has nothing visible to point at as any of his achievements or legacy. They said Amani totally and entirely abandoned his constituents throughout the five years and now want their votes.

They sent out strong message that should the party refuse to withdraw the symbol from Amani and give to the right person, they will also refuse to cast their votes for the APC party and give them to other parties, adding that should their preferred candidate, Mr. Bangura decide to go independent, they will all give him their supports and sponsorship.

All attempts to reach Amani, Mr. B and Mr. Kanu prove futile on to press time but this medium stands ready to publish their sides should they be willing to do so in our subsequent editions.
