The Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire has celebrated 8th Anniversary of its Television channel, which was launched on Sierra Leone’s Independence Day (April 27).
The Founder and CEO, Anthony Navo Jr; established the AYV Media Empire, in response to the recommendations of the Sierra Leone Truth and Reconciliation (TRC) Report, which calls for the engagement and empowerment of young people and society as a whole.
AYV is a leading media company providing cutting-edge communication solutions. AYV operates three television channels, radio, newspaper, and a printing press. AYV also broadcasts on DStv Channel 399 in Sierra Leone and across Africa.
AYV International is headquartered in London, United Kingdom with networks across the world including in Africa, Asia, Europe, Pacific, the Americas, and Caribbean.
AYV has established a strategic partnership with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the world service programme in London. This partnership offers both AYV and the BBC a world – class broadcasting platform and resources for audiences across the world.
As part of the 8th anniversary programmes, AYV has announced new funding and investment to expand the work of AYV Academy. The Academy programme is designed to bring the technical expertise, innovation, energy and perspectives of young professionals from across the world into the AYV’s core work, at the same time as creating exciting development opportunities for talented and qualified young people. The Academy also provides a safe space for more young people to join the AYV team as young professionals. As articulated by AYV’s Chief Operating Officer (COO)- Messeh Leone, we see the Academy as the “present and future” of AYV, ensuring a network of young professional that will sustain the institution for the future.
