“AYV-produced video sells Miss Sierra Leone at Miss World…‘Beauty With A Purpose’ came second in Africa category at Miss World

Miss Sierra Leone 2025, Lachaeveh Alberta Caizarine Davies, currently representing Miss Sierra Leone at the Miss World, has made history by becoming the first Sierra Leonean to reach the Top 8 finalists using the Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire-produced video for Miss Sierra Leone Beauty With A Purpose. 

This achievement is a proud moment for Lachaeveh personally and for Sierra Leone on the international stage.

Lachaeveh Alberta Caizarine Davies said, “For the first time ever, Sierra Leone has emerged as a finalist at the Miss World Beauty with a Purpose project! We made it to the Top 8 — and this is not just a win for me, but a win for my country! We made history. Let’s keep this momentum going — together, we rise”.

Her Beauty With a Purpose project, called the “Dynamo Project,” focuses on helping farmers through sustainable farming methods. This work earned her a place among the top finalists.

This achievement is a proud moment for Lachaeveh personally and for Sierra Leone on the international stage.Earlier in the competition, Lachaeveh did not advance in the Head-to-Head Challenge, a preliminary round focused on public speaking and advocacy.

Lachaeveh will continue to represent Sierra Leone on the global stage throughout the Miss World 2025 competition, which is being held in India.

This achievement brings pride to Sierra Leone and highlights the country’s growing presence in international pageants.

She is also a climate change advocate, writer, and model. Before winning the national crown, she held titles such as Miss University of Makeni and Miss Freetown 2024.

Dr. Fatima Maada Bio is a former actress, screenwriter, film producer and women’s activist, who is currently the First Lady of Sierra Leone, and wife to President Dr. Julius Maada Bio.

Dr. Fatima holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree in Performing Art from the Roehampton Institute in London. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism at the University of the Arts, London College of Communication. With her zest for education. Last year, she bags her Honoris Causa Doctorate at American International University in West Africa. Presently, she has been honoured with her second Honorary Doctorate degree by the University of Sierra Leone.

During her time as an actress, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio participated in various Nollywood movie projects, as well as other acting projects in the United Kingdom.
Before her marriage to President Bio, she had a successful career in the entertainment industry under her maiden name Fatima Jabbie. She began working in the African film industry when she was in London.
Dr. Bio wrote, acted, and produced Nollywood films including Battered, Shameful Deceit, Mr. Ibu in Sierra Leone, Expedition Africa, The Soul, etc. She starred in the film Mirror Boy. Due to her passion for Women’s Empowerment, she, in December 2018, organised a peaceful protest against Sexual Gender Base violence which brought together first ladies from different Africa countries marching on the streets of Freetown with the theme ‘Hands Off Our Girls’. This saw the beginning of her very powerful campaign themed “HandsOff Our Girls”.

The Hands Off Our Girls campaign geared towards reducing Early Marriage and Rape in the country. She has been working diligently to ensure that girls are protected and safe from any harm.

Dr. Fatima Maada Bio in December 2019 launched the free sanitary pads for school-going girls. The initiative is to support the Free Quality Education initiative of the government, the sanitary pads program saw a huge reduction in girls skipping school. The sensitisation campaign on menstrual sanitation was an integral part of the Free Sanitary Pad campaign. 

The Hands Off Our Girls campaign effectively led to President Julius Maada Bio’s declaration of the National Emergency on Rape and Sexual Violence in Sierra Leone on the 7th February 2019 and Subsequent revision of the sexual offences act in September 2019.

She has received several awards including; Honored with the Warrior Award at the International Women of Power Luncheon in California, USA for her bravery and outstanding contribution towards women and girls in Sierra Leone, also she was honored as one of the most influential people of Africa descent under 40 in New York, United States.

In 2013, Madam Fatima won The Pan-African “Woman of the Year Award” from All African Media. Also, in 2013, she earned Best Female Actress at the African Oscars in Washington, DC. That same year, she won the Gathering of African Best (GAB) Awards for promoting a positive view of Africans around the world. And in line with her dedication to educating and protecting our children, especially our girls, in September 2021, Dr. Bio was honoured by the United Nations as the new champion of the United Nations Education Plus program.
