After a dedicated life of service, patriotism and inspiration to our generation and future generations, a great legend has gone.
We are deeply saddened at the passing of Mr Lansana Sheriff (Steady Bongo), a Legendary Musician and Cultural Hero.
On behalf of everyone at the Africa Young Voices ( AYV) Media Empire, we would like to convey our deepest condolences to the family of Mr Lansana Sheriff, to his friends and fans across the world who loved him.
Steady Bongo was an extraordinary legend, and a humble man of the people, who contributed greatly to entertainment, peace, culture, media, and nation building.
Steady Bongo was a good friend and strong supporter of AYV. He served as a senior judge for the AYV / Africell Housemates Salone reality Tv programme.
The development of our entertainment industry, culture and media is a credit to his service and testament to his dedication, contribution and leadership.
Steady Bongo was deeply committed to the cause of building a United Sierra Leone and was always at the forefront of engaging and empowering people and communities from all walks of life including working with various artists in promoting peace and sustainable development.
Steady Bongo was a true son of Sierra Leone and Africa. He was a man of peace who contributed greatly in restoring peace and democracy in Sierra Leone following many years of civil war, and he continued to be a positive influence to our generation and future generations. He was a true legend and cultural hero!
We are pleased to have worked closely with Steady Bongo, in several important projects, and shared so many of the inspirational moments during his incredible time in this world.
We appreciate his support, our admiration for all that he was, and our enduring gratitude for all that he gave us. We have been profoundly blessed by his leadership, creativity and service to his people.
His legacy is one of peace, unity, justice, hope, and a relentless pursuit of a more just and equitable world, with an influence which extends far beyond Sierra Leone and Africa. He leaves an indelible mark on our lives and his work will continue to inspire future generations.
We send our prayers, love and heartfelt condolences to his family and everyone.
We will miss him greatly!
