TV Presenter, actress and the latest Mandela Fellow, currently working for the Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire, Phebean Swill has been nominated as ‘Forty Under 40 Africa’.
The Award is to identify, honour and celebrate a cross-section of the continent’s most influential and accomplished young business leaders under the age forty from a wide range of industries we cover, who are committed to business growth, professional excellence and community service and have risen up the ranks of their companies or industries at a relatively young age as result of this.

“Our categories cover a wide range of all the various sectors you can think of, ranging from banking and finance, energy, family business, agriculture, theatre and arts, journalism, fashion, law, sports, event management, health, technology and innovation amongst others”.
Then purpose of the Forty Under 40 Africa Award is to recognise and celebrate emerging leaders under the age of 40 who demonstrate or impact personally and/ or professionally through their exceptional leadership.
The Award is also to identify projects and individual achievements that have enabled young achievers to set them apart from their competitors and have produced clear and compelling value, return on investment, and other relevant results.
It further encourages upcoming youth that excellence and success can be achieved at a very tender age and help shape the narrative on Africa by highlighting the best stories of positive change from young change makers in the various fields of endeavor.
Phebean is one of the Most Influential Young Sierra Leoneans 2018 awardee who launched her career into broadcasting in 2009 as a Disk Jockey, entertaining listeners of community radio stations and night clubs.
Two years later, she climbed up a ladder, taking up news reading for distinguished radio stations and serving as Mistress of Ceremony for entertainment galas. By the time she clocked three years behind the mic, the beauty became bigger and better. She was no longer just a DJ, but an MC with a national distinction, a TV presenter known beyond the borders of Sierra Leone and winner of multiple prestigious local and international awards.
Swill is today the indisputable Queen of the mic and camera, a household name in Sierra Leone, a talented and sensational actress, a philanthropist and a role model for young girls. She is hardworking, dedicated and professional. She is worth emulating.
