Using the opportunity to advise youth further, Bishop Laggah recalled that as a young man going to school and struggling to make a living, he also encountered challenges and problems which adversely affected him from pursuing his education, but that he did not relent and stayed focused until he completed his secondary education.

He said: “You know, I want the young people to understand that without God you are nothing. You can have all the education in this world; you can achieve all your dreams; you can have all the money, all the cars in this world but if you do not have God, then you have missed it all because the Bible says: “What would it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul.”

On the issue of politicians misusing young people for selfish motives, Bishop Laggah maintained that his advice to young people is for them to eschew violence. “The way we see our society going right now, most of the violence; most of the bad things that we see happening all around our society are perpetrated by young people, and even in politics; politicians use more of the young people. So when it comes to perpetrating evil and bad things and wicked activities, it is always associated with young people and that is not supposed to be the case.”

He stated that young people are the future of any nation and that therefore, “we cannot connive with the devil or any agent to mess them up at that age; because if they are messed up at that particular age then what future do they have? They would have no future at all and so that’s why my desire has always been to reach out to young people; so that’s why I am saying that I am pro-youth; pro-young people.”
