Sierra Leone’s Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice KombaKamanda, as part of the ongoing reforms in the Judiciary, has provided uniforms for all Registrars, Drivers, Administrative Staff, Bailiffs, Office Assistants, and Cleaners to promote professionalism and facilitate the easy identification of staff across the country.

For years, certain individuals, including so-called “Professional Sureties,” have taken advantage of the public by posing as Judiciary staff and extorting money from unsuspecting litigants. This will now distinguish between Impersonators and staff of the Judiciary.

According to the Human Resource Manager, Joanitta Dauda, this brilliant move will clearly distinguish legitimate staff from imposters.

“This will not only identify our staff, but it is a decisive measure that strengthens trust and transparency in the judicial process,” the HR Manager said.

On her part, the Deputy Master and Registrar, Hulaimatu F. Christian-Moses said this reform is a testament to the Chief Justice’s commitment to integrity, accountability, and service delivery in the Judiciary. She described this move as “a proactive approach that sets a positive tone for future reforms and shows that the Judiciary is serious about restoring public confidence in the justice system.”

The Administrative Assistant at the Fast Track Commercial Court, Mohamed Lamin Kamara, on behalf of staff members, applauded the Honourable Chief Justice for this bold and strategic initiative to bring tangible reforms in the Judiciary.

He said, “It is a clear signal that Sierra Leone’s Judiciary is on the path to becoming more efficient and people-focused.”

The Honourable Chief Justice assured that he will collectively work with everyone to make the Judiciary enviable. He appealed to them to be punctual at work and to dress smartlyto represent the Judiciary well.
