The workshop, 15-17 February 2016 is the first activity implemented by CPA UK following the Ebola crisis and it is geared towards assisting with capacity building on the needs of the Sierra Leone Parliament, and also aims to strengthen the oversight capabilities of Parliamentary Committees on Health and Sanitation, Human Rights and Agriculture and Food Security.
Chairman of the occasion, Hon Chernor R Bah Deputy Speaker of Sierra Leone Parliament welcomed the guests and expressed delight that the ideas and experiences of both the CPA and Sierra Leone Parliament will impact positively on how they do their work.
However, Chairmen of Committees (Hon. Abdulai Sesay (Heath and Sanitation), Hon. Alimamy G Kargbo (Agriculture), Hon. Komba ES Boyah (Human Right), Peter Kulagbanda Director of Committees Parliament of Sierra Leone and Eve Samson, Clerk of European Scrutiny Committee, UK Parliament gave presentation in giving a scenic impression on their works.
Also, aspects of Managing Committee Business and Relations, Committee Inquires, Effective Committee report and Committee impact where discussed on the first day of workshop. The interaction continues.
