The Directorate of Science, Technology and Innovation- DSTI has officially launched the SLNMC Digital Regulatory Platform, a pioneering initiative developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Sierra Leone Nursing and Midwifery Council (SLNMC), and supported by UNFPA.
This innovative platform is a secure, cloud-based system designed to overhaul the entire process of registration, licensing, and regulation for nurses and midwives in Sierra Leone.

With approximately 80% of the health workforce comprising around 18,000 nurses and midwives, this initiative is poised to make a substantial impact on the healthcare landscape.
The SLNMC Digital Regulatory Platform is a significant leap forward in promoting transparency, enhancing data accuracy, and ensuring accountability within the healthcare sector.
By digitizing these critical processes, the platform aims to streamline operations, reduce administrative burdens, and improve the overall efficiency of healthcare services in the country.
The event was graced by the Minister of Health, who launched the platform on behalf of the President and the people of Sierra Leone, emphasizing the importance of this development in strengthening the health workforce.
DSTI is committed to continue building solutions that strengthen Sierra Leone’s health systems. From PReSTrack to the SLNMC Digital Regulatory Platform, DSTI firmly supports President Julius Maada Bio’s Human Capital Development agenda.
