VP Juldeh Jalloh – Chairman, Inter-Ministerial Committee on Local Governance
The Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Local Government will today commence the Inauguration ceremonies for all Mayors, Chairpersons, Deputies and Councillors of the twenty-two local councils in Sierra Leone, elected at the June 24 elections.
A notice dated 7th August, 2023, signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government stated that Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, who doubles as the Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Local Governance will do the inaugurations.
The ceremony will take place in all five regional headquarters of Sierra Leone and councils have been asked to invite all sitting Paramount Chiefs to the ceremony.
In the Southern Region the ceremony will be held today 10th August, Eastern Region tomorrow 11th August, Western Urban/Rural on Tuesday 15th August, North West Region on Wednesday 16th August and in the North on Tuesday 22nd August.
