Ex-Mayor Docked for Conspiracy

Accused Herbert George Williams is also said to have conspired with Sanusi Bruski and other persons unknown to cause malicious damage and assault, occasioning actual bodily harm to journalist Patrick Jaiah Kamara, contrary to section (4) of the offences against person’s act of 1861.

Testifying in court, the complainant Journalist Patrick Jaiah Kamara intimated that he was covering the 2018 presidential run-off election at MAFA Field Lumley, when the accused person, Sanusi Bruski together with unknown individuals stormed the said area at Lumley; attacked and snatched away his digital camera valued three thousand, five hundred united state dollars.

He further informed the court that Sanusi Bruski also ordered thugs to attack and robbed him of undisclosed amount of money, tore his clothe, removed memory card from his digital camera and destroyed it in front of police officers present at the scene.

According to journalist Patrick Jaiah Kamara, he later reported the matter at the Lumley Police Station in the west end of Freetown, where police medical request form was issued to him for examination and treatment at the government Connaught Hospital at Light foot Boston Street in part Central part of Freetown.

He further testified that, he returned the endorsed police medical request form to the Lumley Police Station, before statement was obtained from him.

Accused Herbart George Williams is presently on a Fifty Million Leones bail and Magistrate Santigie Bangura adjourned the matter to Friday 13 July 2018.
